ALENA VAIDA

Born in 1993 in Hamburg, Germany, Alena Vaida is a self-taught, contemporary artist, working mostly with oil, ink, gold leaf and blood. She has had a number of showings in Munich, Nuremberg and Hildesheim.

Her artworks are meant to bridge a gap between the modern world of art and the old iconography of traditional painting. They are inspired by music, landscapes and destructive emotion, such as grief, anger and loss. Often leaning on christian symbolism, her art is occult in nature and has its own dark aesthetic.
